Ingredients

  • Beef chuck

    Blade roast, separable lean and fat, trimmed to 1/8" fat, all grades, raw

    8 oz or 227g

  • Cola

    Carbonated beverage, with higher caffeine

    ¼ can 12 fl oz or 92g

  • Lemon juice

    Raw

    1 lemon yields or 47g

Directions

  1. Acquire the cheapest cuts of meat from your local store then tenderize by stabbing repeated with a fork or mashing with a tenderizer
  2. Squeeze lemon over the meat then season with salt and pepper, or whatever combo steak rub you have lazying around
  3. Pour Cola into a large sauce pan until it is just barely deep enough to submerge the meat
  4. Boil meat for approx 8-10 minutes or until it is cooked through.
  5. Drain and enjoy
  6. Note! there are actually less carbs than this recipes mentions, since a lot of the cola is drained off, the acidity is really what we're after for softening up the cheap meat. You can drink the cooking cola if you're really desperate for the carbs....
