Ingredients

  • Beef round

    Bottom round, steak, separable lean and fat, trimmed to 1/8" fat, choice, cooked, braised

    16 oz or 454g

  • White rice

    Steamed, chinese restaurant

    1 cup, loosely packed or 132g

  • Broccoli

    Cooked, boiled, drained, without salt

    1 stalk, large (11"-12" long) or 280g

  • Carrots

    Cooked, boiled, drained, without salt

    ½ cup slices or 78g

  • Soy sauce

    Made from soy (tamari)

    1 tbsp or 18g

  • Cornstarch

    1 tsp or 3g

  • Olive oil

    Salad or cooking

  • Garlic

Directions

  1. Slice beef into bite-size pieces, making sure to slice against the grain. Coat with corn starch, marinade, and 1 tbsp oil. Set aside.
  2. Boil broccoli and carrots until they are halfway done, about 3 minutes. Run under cold water to stop cooking.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until it is 3/4 done, about 2 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil to pan and heat. Add garlic and onion and saut for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add vegetables, beef, and sauce, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with green onion and serve over rice.
