Directions
- Heat honey, sugar and butter in a pot and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and then allow to cool.
- Mix flour, almonds, spices and baking powder in a bowl. Add the honey mixture and knead everything into a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the mixer, then with your hands.
- Wrap the gingerbread dough in cling film and let it rest at room temperature for about 3-4 hours.
- Roll out on a floured work surface approx. 1/2 cm thick and cut out biscuits. Bake in a preheated oven at (electric range: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 20-25 minutes on trays lined with baking paper.
- Allow the gingerbread to cool and decorate with icing or chocolate as desired.
