  1. Shred the lettuce.
  2. In a heavy skillet over low heat, melt the butter. Spread half the lettuce in the skillet, add peas and cover with remaing lettuce.
  3. Cover skillet and cook mixture until peas are just tender. During cooking add 1 or 2 tsp of water as necessary to prevent vegetables from scorching. Season with salt and pepoer before serving.
