Directions

  1. Honey Butter Biscuits
  2. Preheat the oven to 400F (205C). Line a greased baking sheet pan with parchment paper, a silicone mat, or both.
  3. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Grate butter into the flour or use a pastry cutter or two knives to cut the frozen or cold butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs. Be sure to work quickly to keep the butter from melting.
  5. In a small bowl combine the buttermilk and honey.
  6. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour the honey buttermilk mix. Stir until just combined without overmixing.
  7. Turn the honey butter biscuit dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat the dough out to about an inch thick. Fold it over and gently flatten it again. Repeat the folding process 3-4 times.
  8. Cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter or a floured glass. Push straight down without twisting to ensure biscuits can rise properly.
  9. Arrange your biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  10. Honey Butter
  11. While baking the biscuits, combine the softened butter with honey in a small bowl and mix until smooth.
  12. Brush the warm biscuits with the honey butter before serving.
  13. Enjoy your honey butter biscuits with a generous dollop of honey butter on top.
