  1. Wash lentils. Bring to boil in just enough water to cover. Cover and reduce to medium-low. Simmer. Add water as needed to keep covered, until tender, 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in large skillet. Cook onion until caramelized.
  3. Mix spices in large bowl. Stir into onions and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in tomatie puree, remove from heat and stir into lentils
