  1. cut fresh okra into rings, place in a bowl & sprinkle with water, toss. The water will cause the okra to produce a little of it's typical "slime". This is what causes the cornmeal to stick.
  2. sprinkle the corn meal over okra & toss to coat
  3. at this point either pan fry, or dry blanch & freeze for later use
