  1. Preheat the broiler and line the rack of a broiler pan with foil.
  2. Finely chop the scallions and mix them with the light mayonnaise.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry and place them skin side down on the prepared broiler pan. Season each fillet with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Spread the scallion mixture evenly over the tops of the fillets.
  5. Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat until the scallions are slightly charred and the fish is just cooked through, about 8 minutes.
