- Allow meat to reach room temperature.
- Heat cast iron skillet to medium-high heat.
- Use fork to poke several holes in both sides of steak.
- Season well with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Add a drop of olive oil to each side after seasoning and then rub seasoning into meat.
- Cook meat in slightly oiled pan, flipping once or twice to an internal temperature of 110°F and remove from heat. This is for a medium rare cook.
- Allow meat to rest for 5-7 minutes. The internal temp will continue to rise and cook the steak.
- Plate and serve.
