- Allow meat to reach room temperature.
- Heat cast iron skillet to medium-high heat.
- Use fork to poke several holes in both sides of steak.
- Season well with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Add a drop of olive oil to each side after seasoning and then rub seasoning into meat.
