- Roughly chop the cabbage, onion, and bacon. In a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the bacon and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the onion and cook until the onion is caramelized and the bacon is crispy.
