  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry and arrange them in a single layer in a glass or other nonreactive baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the onion soup mix, cranberry sauce, and French dressing until smooth. Pour over the chicken and turn to coat evenly.
  3. Cover the dish and refrigerate to marinate for at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Remove the cover and loosely tent the dish with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake covered for 45–55 minutes, then uncover and continue baking until the sauce is bubbling, the top is lightly browned, and the chicken reaches 165°F, about 20–30 minutes more.
  6. Let rest 5 minutes before serving, spooning sauce over the chicken.
