creamy corn chowder

Ingredients

• Bacon fat

  1 tbsp or 13g

• Onion

  raw

  1 cup, chopped or 160g

• Cream-style corn

  sweet, yellow, canned, regular pack

  2 can (17.0 oz) or 964g

• Cream of chicken soup

  canned, condensed

  ¹³⁄₁₆ can (10.75 oz) or 252g

• Half-and-half

  1 cup or 242g

• Black pepper

  ground

  ¼ tsp or 0.5g

• Bacon

  cured pork, cooked, baked

  3 strip cooked or 24g

• Scallions

  tops only

  3 tbsp or 18g

Directions

1. saute' onions in bacon grease until translucent over a low to medium heat
2. add creamed corn, soup, half and half, pepper, and half of the bacon crumbles; stir well and heat through on low (will be very thick at first)
3. garnish with bacon and green onions
4. * note * "slow and low" - higher heat browns the onion - higher heat make the soup very thin
