Ingredients
Crushed red pepper flakes ½ tsp or 0.2g
Directions
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, cook the turkey sausage, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove to a plate.
- Heat the olive oil in the same skillet. Add the peppers and onion, cooking and stirring frequently until the vegetables are lightly colored and crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the red wine and minced garlic. Cook until most of the liquid evaporates, about 1 minute.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, crushed red pepper, salt, and browned sausage. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the vegetables are tender and the sauce is heated through, about 10 minutes.
- While the sauce simmers, add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
- Add the sauce and fresh basil to the pasta. Toss to coat and serve.
