  1. Add shredded, cooked chicken to chicken broth in a large kettle. Bring to soft boil.
  2. While kettle is heating up, melt shortening in sauce pan. Add flour and make a thin paste. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter and chili powder and incorporate.
  3. Slowly pour paste into boiling kettle while stirring. Allow to thicken. Add salt and pepper to taste.
