Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans with 1 3/4-inch-high sides.
- Prepare the cake mix according to package directions, incorporating about one-fourth of the peanut butter.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans on racks for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto racks to cool completely.
- In a heavy small saucepan, combine the chocolate syrup and semisweet chocolate. Stir constantly over low heat until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
