- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine onions, carrots, and celery. Microwave for 3 minutes to soften.
 - Transfer the softened vegetables to a slow cooker. Add garlic, broth, pasta sauce, beans, drained tomatoes, bay leaves, poultry seasoning, and pepper. Stir well. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 3½ hours, depending on your slow cooker's settings.
 - Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions and set aside.
