  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, carrot, celery, and garlic, and cook, stirring for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, for 6 to 8 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, tomatoes, oregano, nutmeg, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to package directions until tender. Drain.
  6. Divide pasta among serving bowls and spoon over the sauce. Enjoy!
