  1. Preheat your oven's broiler.
  2. Slice the oranges, removing the peel and pith, and cut into 1/4 inch rounds.
  3. Season the salmon fillets with salt and place on a broiling pan. Position the plan about 4 to 6 inches from the heat source and broil for 15 minutes, or 10 minutes per inch of thickness, until almost cooked through. Remove from the broiler.
  4. Sprinkle the salmon with red wine vinegar, arrange the orange rounds on top, and add chopped scallions and cracked black pepper. Broil for an additional minute before serving.
