  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add the butter to the pot. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until softened but not browned. Add the turnips, garlic, and spices, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 15 minutes until the turnip is tender.
  5. Use an immersion blender to blend the soup in the pot, or carefully blend the soup in a blender and return to the pot. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
  6. Divide between bowls and top with crumbled bacon, shrimp, and chives. Serve immediately and enjoy!
