Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook the grits according to package directions until thick and creamy, stirring often to prevent sticking.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, half of the butter, and salt until smooth. Cover to keep warm.
  3. Pat the shrimp very dry. Season with the paprika and a pinch of salt.
  4. Melt the remaining butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and just opaque, about 1–2 minutes per side.
  5. Add the hot sauce and toss to coat, cooking 30–60 seconds to glaze the shrimp.
  6. Spoon the cheesy grits into bowls and top with the shrimp and any pan sauce. Serve immediately.
