- In a bowl wash the red lentils, rinse a few times with cold water, can also be soaked overnight to make cooking them quicker.
- In a pan place the red lentils and fill up to the top with water, add the chilli powder, salt, dried coriander, turmeric, garam masala, mix thoroughly and leave to boil on a medium heat for around 40 minutes gently stirring every 5-10 minutes.
- In a heated pan melt the better, and fry off the garlic and tomatoes until golden brown.
- Add the fried garlic and tomatoes to the dhal pan and mix thoroughly. Add the coriander and leave to simmer for a further 5-10 mins, serve with rice, chappati or on its own as a soup, ENJOY!
