  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cook squashes is the microwave for 8-10 minutes until soft. While squash is cooking, tear the toasted bread slices into small pieces.
  3. Mash slightly and add in chopped or grated garlic, butter, salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Place half the squash mixture into a greased 1 qt casserole, top with 1/2 bread pieces, and 1/2 cheese. Repeat with the remaining squash, bread pieces, and cheese. Bake for 1/2 hour until bubbly and browned.
